Recently, there has been a growing trend of foreign nationals establishing companies in Japan and obtaining “management/administration” status of residence. This is thought to be due to the fact that the weak yen has made it relatively inexpensive to start a business in Japan. However, the procedures for establishing a company in Japan and obtaining status of residence are complex and difficult, so please contact our firm for advice.

Company establishment and acquisition of residency status
In order for a foreign national to establish a company and obtain a “management/administration” visa status, they will need to have at least 5 million yen in capital. This is the minimum amount, so the more the better.
In addition, the company must have a physical office, not a home office or virtual office. Note that a contract must be concluded before applying for the visa status.
In addition, for a newly established company, it is necessary to prepare a detailed business plan. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the key to obtaining a visa status for a newly established company.
In order to establish a company, you must first have the articles of incorporation certified at a notary public's office, and then register the company at the Legal Affairs Bureau (our firm has an alliance with a judicial scrivener's office that handles company registration).
Once you have signed a contract for office space, established a company with a capital of at least 5 million yen, and created a business plan, you can apply for a status of residence.
Required funds
・Capital of at least 5 million yen
・Our firm's fee of 1 million yen (excluding tax)
(This includes all aspects of the package, such as company establishment costs, business plan formulation, and application for residence status)
